Texas is full of unique and entertaining attractions and experiences, and a large amount of these wonderful places are tucked within the Woodlands and Conroe area.
Whether you are planning to visit the area, are moving into a brand-new home, or looking for new things to do in the town you have lived in for years, your kids will love visiting these spots.

  1. The Woodlands Children Museum 
    A great choice for those hotter Texas days when you do not want to keep your kids outside for too long. The Woodlands Children’s Museum combines education with hands-on experiences for kids big and small.

    With dozens of interactive exhibits and play areas, your kids’ imaginations can run wild for hours. No one will tell them not to touch something or be quiet, and they will be able to ask all of the questions they want to the incredible museum staff.

  2. Texas Treeventures 
    Perfect for the more adventurous families out there, Texas Treeventures offers exciting jungle adventures courses for kids both young and old.

    If your kids get hungry or thirsty during their games, they can grab a lemonade or plate of nachos from the bar!

  4. iFLY Houston Woodlands Location 
    A wonderful option for the adrenaline-rush seekers in your family, iFLY Houston provides a safe, secure environment to try skydiving for yourself or as a whole family. The staff at iFLY will walk you through the entire experience beforehand, so you will feel as comfortable and confident as possible before donning your flight suit and helmet and hopping into the wind tunnel.

    While the number of flights you can take depends on the package that you and your family choose, the smallest package comes with two flights, so if you shut your eyes the first time or just want to go again, you can. 

    iFLY is a great option for when you want the thrill of a rollercoaster but do not have the time in your schedule to take the kids to a theme park.

  5. East Texas Elephant Experience 
    This attraction boasts an experience your children are sure to never forget. This piece of land hosts incredible creatures of different species, the most impressive of which being three rescued African elephants. 

    Paige, Krissy and Jeanie are truly the stars of the show, with much of the experience dedicated to interacting with them and learning more about their daily regime and activities.
    You will have the chance to interact with the other animals that call the East Texas Elephant Experience home as well. This extended family includes two camels, a zebra and a herd of pygmy goats.

  6. Moorhead’s Blueberry Farm 
    Equal parts nature trip and educational experience, Moorhead’s Blueberry Farm will give your children a day pulled right from a fairy tale. Spanning twenty acres of lush land, Moorhead’s is home to over twenty different varieties of blueberries.

    Not only can you enjoy the fresh berries you have picked, but several local businesses also use the berries grown at Moorhead’s in their desserts, so you can check these places out once you have picked your fill of berries for yourself.

    This is a seasonal attraction, as blueberries can only grow in certain types of weather, so make sure that they are in season before heading down to the Farm!

  7. Jolly Pirate Adventure Voyage 
    Bring your children’s playtime adventures to life in this real-life pirate voyage on Lake Conroe. The onboard crew captain and mates entertain and engage with the children for the whole ride, so there will never be a boring moment aboard the ship.

    The children will have the opportunity to join in on activities like sword fighting, water gun battles, treasure hunts and firing an authentic cannon. Additionally, the kids can complete private training and become honorary members of the crew before the journey ends.

    If your kids are on the shyer, quieter side, that is fine, too. Everyone aboard the boat is welcome to take in the view from the ship along the voyage or watch the more dangerous activities from a safe distance.

  8. Heritage Museum of Montgomery County 
    This is a great option for those days when you want your kids to have an equal dose of education with their fun. 

    Located in the Grogan/Cochran home built in 1924, The Heritage Museum of Montgomery County consists of three permanent galleries dedicated to educating visitors about different facets and time periods of Montgomery County’s rich history.

    The grounds also feature several outdoor exhibits and a gift shop where you can get your kids something to remember their trip by. One program offered at the museum is the Saturday Pioneer Adventure events, which are hour-long educational events for the whole family throughout the summer.
