Jacksonville is the largest and most populous city in Florida, with over 970,000 people. The city has twice as many residents as Miami and three times more than Orlando. Jacksonville occupies the largest landmass in the state and nationwide.

From June 2021 to June 2022, the area's workforce increased by 4.6% or just under 37,000 jobs, according to FloridaJobs.org. In June 2022, the unemployment rate in Jacksonville was 2.9%.

Jacksonville has a public transportation system that includes bus and trolley services, the Skyway, bike-sharing and ferry services. Its public transportation system is one of the best in Florida and offers reliable and affordable public transportation.
